Prime Minister: During the pandemic, the average time of building houses under PMAY reduced to 45-60 days
During
the unfortunate landing of the pandemic created havoc in all the industry. No,
sector was left untouched and unaffected. Recently on Saturday, in BHOPAL: our
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi stated that the earlier 125 days were
consumed to build houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas
Yojana (PMAY-Gramin), which
now have reduced to an average time of just 45-60 days as the migrants who returned
home because of the pandemic contributed towards it.
Adding
further to it, during the corona virus period 18 Lakhs houses have been
constructed under the PMAY in the country.
He
also stated that there is need to strengthen the poor population of our country
in order to bring poverty to end.
Under the PMAY scheme, rural parts of Madhya Pradesh have celebrated a virtual housewarming
ceremony of 1.75 house built where Narendra Modi addressed by saying,
"The speed with which these houses were
constructed is a record. The construction of a house under the PMAY used to
take an average of 125 days earlier. But in the coronavirus period, the average
time taken for it came down to 45 to 60 days. This is an example of turning a
crisis into an opportunity".
Adding more he said, "This has become
possible as the migrants who returned home during the coronavirus-induced
lockdown also joined the work and availed benefits of the Garib Kalyan Rojgar
Abhiyaan, under which Rs 23,000 crore have been spent on infrastructure and
other works”.
The migrants returned home, got employment under
this campaign and this expenditure also helped the construction- related
businesses, he added.
"This campaign has helped the rural
economy," he said.
On the proud occasion, the prime minister
interacted with some of the beneficiaries of the project out of which to Pyarelal
Yadav from Singrauli, Modi said, "For removing poverty, it is important to
strengthen the poor and this scheme has developed self- confidence in them so
that they can sleep peacefully in their house at the end of the day after
toiling hard."
Another example of
unity can be seen from Dhar district's Amjhera village where son of Gulab Singh
told Modi he constructed his house with the collective efforts of his
villagers, who came up and contributed voluntarily for it.
He also said, “The masons and laboureres, who went jobless due to lockdown, worked for
them free of cost”.
One more from Bhitarwar in Gwalior district,
Narendra Namdeo was grateful to our Prime Miniter Modi for his government's
decision to void Article 370 and triple talaq, with that Modi asked him in a
lighter vein whether he was planning to contest elections considering his
knowledge about several issues.
Modi was praised and thanked by Namdeo's wife
for providing a house, a gas connection and a toilet to them and invited him to
visit their home, which Modi accepted.
